Kit Receipt

I'm due to receive my kit tomorrow December 9, 2002, although it may be another day as Jeff, (one of my three brothers) who is going to do the final transport hauling honors, has a previous commitment which may cause delivery to be bumped until Tuesday.  That'll be no problem because I placed my order in late August and another day or two won't make any difference. (I've already held up shipment on my own for two weeks as my wife and I were out of town when Rans was ready to ship initially).

I'm still somewhat anxious that everything will arrive in good physical shape, though...more on the receiving process later.

The first thing to do on receipt is a thorough inventory in order to make sure you've got all the parts (and there are plenty according to the Packing List I received) and that all the parts are in good working order.

I've heard great things about Rans Customer Service from other builders and now I get to experience it firsthand.

I see from my Packing List forms that of the six items backordered, the one (actually two - the main gearlegs) I was looking forward to working with -first- is listed first among the 'later arrivals'.  Vicki at Rans, who was very polite during my first Customer Service call (oddly enough, asking when the gearlegs might ship) suggested working on the Wings until the legs ship in three weeks or so.

Well, there goes 'doing it by the book'...I'm not technically OCD bound and I honestly feel for those who are, but I -do- prefer to follow instructions start to finish, it's just my nature.  ;-)

We'll see how it all works out, probably just fine!
