Cover both Flap Structures...

10/18/03 - Today I was able to cover both flap structures and complete edge taping on one piece before having to stop work and take care of some personal business.  I am ready to cover both aileron structures and finish edge taping the remaining three items next trip to the shop.

Here are just a few photos of today's work, starting with the first flap frame laid out on the fabric:

And processing through to finished:

Both frames covered and the one in front has tapes applied:

In project related news, (and with M's approval of course), since I am obviously NOT going to finish fabric work (and primer work, and painting work, etc.) before winter hits and I don't want to have to work away from the house, which would also mean renting a place, I am having a furnace installed in the shop in the next two or three weeks so I can work comfortably over the cold months.

The installers say they can even locate the unit overhead in the attic so I won't lose any MUCH NEEDED workspace!  Yay!

Controlling working temperature is more critical during the current and coming phases than last winter when I was just assembling parts, so I'm going to go with a decent installation including a couple of warm air supply vents, cold air return and a programmable thermostat.

I could even add central air to the shop next summer now...nah!  ;^)

More updates soon...
