Wings...installing rib clips 05/25 - 05/26/03 - I finished the right side tank install yesterday and began locating the rib clips on Leading Edge Spar and Trailing edge Spars for the right side wing structure and completed drilling and clecoing the clips for the right side today. Following are a very few photos (it's a pretty simple procedure) beginning with the LE root clip:

Of course, I got a bit carried away and on the fourth inboard clip (aft), I riveted the nut plate to the spar instead of clecoing. That'll have to come out. So far (knock wood) I've only had to drill out THREE rivets, and it's not too hard, but not something I'd want to do on a regular basis (at least for the stainless rivets). Sheesh, I'm glad this isn't a metal plane! ;^) More updates soon... |
