Wings and Mother's Day things...

05/11/03 - I got to do a bit of visiting with my Dad & Stepmom Lois with Alyssa today and made it home with an hour or so to spare in the shop...couldn't be a better day!

Here's Alyssa with the REAL Grandpa Wilkerson:

When I returned to the shop, I was able to complete installation of the nutplates for flap & aileron hinges, then began assembly of the internal bracing tubes for the right wing structure.  Following are a few shots of today's tasks:

I'm going to try and get both wing structures to the point of installing ribs by the end of the week, then I hope to be able to have the wing structures completed by the end of the month.

At that point, I will begin working on the covering process and hope to schedule delivery of the Rotax 912S engine around the middle of July (there is a six to eight week wait after I initiate the delivery order from Rans, according to Ed).

Oh, and I've began looking around for a hangar...hope to find something affordable AND on a grass strip within around 30 miles (max) by the middle to end of August.  I have a solid line on a new tee hangar at EHR but not sure I want to start on a paved strip.

Ideally, I'd like to wind up at a small TURF facility like, 3EV61Y, 43IN or  I91.  Wish me luck!

More updates soon...
