We've got gear! 02/15/03 - I think I mentioned WAY BACK in the beginning that I wanted to start this project by installing the main gear and tailwheel but was unable due to a back order on the main gearlegs. Well, about a week or so ago, the gearlegs came and today was the day to give that a shot. Lots of photos today because it looks a little more like what it's intended to look like now than before. I WAS going to work on the windshield and doors, (here's a shot with the lower windshield deck clamped in place)...
...but decided to start on the gear instead. Here are the gearleg sockets after drilling and assembly::

I then started on mounting the tube and tire assembly on the wheels...ugh! I thought it was going to be DIFFICULT, but after I posted a question on best assembly practices to the RansList and Mike Schreckenbach came to the rescue with his tip (DISHWASHING SOAP Kevin...use the soap!) the things practically assembled themselves! :) Thanks Mike!
I figured I'd come this far with it, I might as well see what the gear looks like installed:
