Trim and fit interior sections...

01/15/03 - I've been working a bit on the interior sections this week and having more frustration than fun, I must say.  This part of the process has given me headache after headache and I've leaned on Ed at Rans for technical advice more than once.

After the first attempt at trimming, I wrote Ed asking how much $$$ to replace the Back Panel (thinking I'd removed THE WRONG PART) and I must say he's been the best at helping me through this part of the job.

Thanks again, Ed for sending me the photos! (and thank goodness for email...makes getting technical questions answered a snap!)

This week, I've spent about 3-1/2 hours trimming and fitting (and about TEN HOURS wondering if I've TRIMMED TOO MUCH! on occasion) first on the Back Panel, Interior Baggage Area Panel and Side Seat Panels.

Here's a photo of that job in progress:

Next was the Center Seat Panel closeout area:

and then the Control Stick Panel:

So, here's what I've gotten finished on the trial fit:

Last week, I had a pleasant anticipation for this part of the process, and a couple of days since I started this part, I felt like I'd just be happy to complete it without having to replace any of the panels.

I think the completed project will look just fine after that bit of a bump in the road...I've got that pleasant anticipation again and now I'm looking forward to the rest of the interior trim work!

More updates soon...
